Major design flaw Product itself is very nice and easy to put together with a little time. 3 stars because of the major design flaw that is making me consider returning it. The angle of the third platform in relation to the base makes it so it will not go up against a wall or into a corner so it takes up more space than expected.
Take this safety precaution if you buy or have this product It arrived yesterday. Loved it at first. Me and the cat. the cat liked it right away, scratching the post, sitting on the podium, playing with the spring toy, and the ball in the base. She was really getting into playing with the ball inside the base. She’s totally distracted having a great time till she starts yowling. She’s stuck – can’t pull her leg out of the hole. There’s a metal clamp inside the circular base that the bottom screws up into, and she got her claw stuck on it (in the gap between the wood and the metal).It took about 15 crazy stressful minutes of 2 of us with a flashlight and screwdriver to get her unstuck. I had to reach in through the top hole with a screwdriver and get it under her claw and push it away from her, to get it out from under the clamp. Pretty odd design flaw.So to prevent this from happening again, I cut a piece of hard flexible plastic – one of those cheap flexible plastic cutting boards – into a circle just a…
IT SHOULD BE CALLED CAT HEAVEN!!! My husband and I took in a stray, Spanky, whom we wanted to keep as an indoor cat without him taking to scratching the furniture. We’ve had many cats through the years and none of them played with toys. So we bought the smallest one this company makes just to see. Not only did he LOVE it, and roughed at it so much we had to keep repairing it! lol (not because of poor quality,but because our outdoor cat, Vinnie, who is much larger loved it too! So, we took the plunge and bought this one. It was the best thing in the world!!! Both cats love it so much, it gives me many hours of enjoyment as I am bedridden and can enjoy watching them play. I would buy it all over again ….that’s how much it occupies their time. Not to mention, they love sleeping on it as well. Its VERY sturdy, not very hard to put together…took less than 1/2 hour, and just for added fun, placed it in front of the window today so he could look out the window… Spanky hardly left his condo all day! Just LOVE…
